**** Are there any Rolling Stones tunes which rise to the level of Beatles songs you consider to be classics?

****If so. what songs come to mind first?*

***of course - both bands have created classics - to compare the two however does both an injustice...

* I agree. While I prefer The Beatles, The Stones still are a great band in their own right and ended up having a different style. Although John claimed they copied everything The Beatles did. That might've been true to an extent at least in the early days.

* Another British Invasion band that wasn't too far behind in my opinion were The Kinks. Ray Davies was/is pretty underrated.
I never thought that was true in the very early period... The Stones were far more rooted in blues...Also, the rockabilly influence you can find with the Fabs wasn't there with the Stones...There's a shared admiration for Chuck Berry and Arthur Alexander, sure...What is there to back that up before we hear the sitar on 'Paint It Black', 'We Love You' and The Satanic Majesties album? Uf you listen to the "Between The Buttons' album, you'll hear Dylan and The Kinks influence more than you'll hear the Fabs...Followup Messages:
