* Ringo's album of standards...Which preceded Nillson's standards album by a few years.. Anyhow, I probably woyldn't have been ready for such an album at the time had there not been been a Beatle involved......But I'll always have a soft spot for this album...Because I can still see and hear my mom singing along to 'Let The Rest Of The World Go By', 'Night And Day' and 'You Always Hurt The One You Love'... I think he once said he made it for his mum...I guess he made it for mine too...

*So thanks Richie for recording this album and providing me with a memory to cherish...

Ringo was a bit ahead of his time in terms of a rocker doing a standards album. I haven't listened to it in quite a while but I do like Sentimental Journey for what it is. It's basically Ringo paying homage to some of the pre rock era music. Paul essentially did the same thing many years later with Kisses on the Bottom.
