**** Record Store Day 2013 sales were up 59% form last year...Sales have increased every year since Record Store Day began but this year, the jump was the biggest ever...
****
****
**** Support your indie record stores and may they forever reign!
****
****
**** And remember. You can't keep a great format down...Vinyl was once thought to be dead and buried...Ladies and gentlemen,
****Frankenplatter has risen from the grave...

***Many Audio lovers have bought expensive turntable to ENJOY their FULL Audio info music! NO just 1's and 2's for them! They want the WHOLE spectrum of frequencies, with the in-between ones too!
***
***I guess the MIT people just keep inventing stuff,,,,and we the people FEEL we must NEED it if they MAKE it. BUT, as in a lot of THINGS. Just because THEY make it, doesn't mean we actually NEED it!
***
***Gadgets keep being invented, for that is what geeks do. And business people eat it all up, for the KNOW buyers just have to have the latest gadgets! People stand in line for the latest PHONE! LOL. Mine is old and I can "still" call people! Imagine that! For the other things it can't do,,,,I don't even want to do those WITH or ON and not take up much space in my shirt or pants. "They" DID THAT! LOL

**There wasn't a participating store near me this time. We do have a couple of records shops in the town though, both in the indoor market.
**
**Judging by the Hi-Fi magazines there's still plenty of turntables being manufactured, a niche market obviously.

*Huge fan of vinyl here. Have a nice collection (including a 1st pressing of Sgt. Pepper in mono with the cutouts and psychedelic sleeve).
*
*The problem I have with record store day is that many people have clued into the fact that most records released that day are limited editions. So many people who don't listen to vinyl are in line and buying albums to turn around and sell them on the internet. Most stores have tried to stop this by limiting the number of albums you can buy, but it still happens. It's really a shame too. But all in all I'm glad events like this exist.
*
*But yes, there is a resurgence in vinyl and I couldn't be happier. Many bands are even recording in analogue again so that they can release a great vinyl record. May the good times continue! :)
We always have to deal with that scene, don't we? ..Like the dealers at record shows who are only about the monetary value of the record and not whether the music on the record kicks serious ass or not... I like to talk to people who are in it because they love that sound like I do...It's cool to know you have a valuable platter but there's gotta be more going on than that for me..Followup Messages:
