**One of my pet peeves makes an appearance when people compare Magical Mystery Tour to the Beatles actual movies...Yes, MMT was filmed but it's not a movie in the same way that AHDN and Help! are movies...It is and was a television special which had a running time of less than the standard running time of a motion picture... Woody Allen did a television special and I have yet to see anyone compare it to Annie Hall or Hannah and Her Sisters..

Yes, I think that's a good way of characterizing it...

If you're going to compare it to something, compare it to other tv specials or to the long-form videos which came later...

I think that's a much fairer comparison..
