Being a musician, I just try to keep the mindset that someone else nearby also loves music. So, I can appreciate that, and get into whatever music it is,,(UNLESS it is too loud for my tender ears). I NEVER read outside anyway. TOO much to take in, for me.

If too loud, I either go in, or like you mentioned, put in some plugs and just hear my ringing twice as loud! I usually try to deal with the loud music, (NOT that often anyway). In the summer though, any music seems festive,,,so I try to go with the flow on a really nice day. WHY have it ruin my mood? It's MUSIC! Unless it is less music to me, and more just programed beats and such. Then, I might fire back some Beatles! Take THAT!
